I’m excited to be sharing an update on the series Bridgette and I are collaborating on. She recently finished two more pieces which we submitted to the Morsels: A Small Works/Small Series Show which opens on Saturday, October 13 and runs through mid-December. We’re not quite sure which images (hopefully all three!) will be in the show yet, but until then here’s a little sneak peak at the initial images I shared with Bridgette and the beautiful pieces she created using them!
The first one is titled Rust and Feathers.
She used two of my images for this piece; the first is one of my streetlamp images and the second is a detail shot of a loading dock in the Fulton Market area. So interesting to see how she takes pieces of an image or a full image and incorporates them into her encaustic paintings.

The second piece is titled The El Tracks.

This image is part of my From the ‘L’ series. There’s much debate about the correct abbreviated form of the elevated train. El seems to make sense since it’s a shortened version of elevated. But according to Wikipedia and the Chicago History Museum it’s called the ‘L’. Either way, we all know what it refers to. And this may be my favorite finished piece from our collaboration so far! Love, love, love it! Such talent Bridgette has!
