A Little Tour Down La Salle Street

After a number of weeks not getting out to shoot, I took a little trip down La Salle Street today. I’ve never really shot the Chicago Board of Trade and it really is a stunning building, perfectly centered at the south end of La Salle, which to me is one canyon of a street, it’s always so dark. But the location of the CBOT can make for some great images.
I also recently learned The Rookery offers tours every Tuesday afternoon, so I decided to check it out and escape the cold this afternoon. Wow, this is a gorgeous building! It’s impossible for me to remember all the details of the history of this building but it was one of Chicago’s first skyscraper’s and was originally built by Burnham & Root and later restored by Frank Lloyd Wright.
If you work in the loop, and have 30 minutes to spare over your lunch break, I highly recommend checking out the tour since it’s the only way to see any of the interior building other than the lobby.
