I probably should have ventured out when the snow was freshly fallen and before the arctic temperatures set in but it was hard to pass up that rare phenomenon of steam rolling off Lake Michigan. These frigid temps are rare, I can only remember one other winter with temps this low, it was my sophomore year of college with insane -80 windchill temps coursing through Wisconsin. I’m just glad this isn’t an annual situation! However, as brutal and miserable as this weather is, it sure makes you appreciate the diversity we get to experience here in the Midwest—and I wouldn’t have it any other way!
