Despite last night’s dismal weather, rain, wind and way-too-cold temps for the end of May, Out of Chicago Photography had a fun limo tour. We were lucky enough to start the night in the House of Blue’s Foundation Room which is a private, members-only club full of lavish decor. The walls are covered in this exotic fabric full of vibrant colors and details. Definitely a standout feature.
Since I really hate working with a tripod, especially in tight quarters with a bunch of other photographers, I thought it would be fun to create some abstract images of the wall coverings using intentional camera movement (ICM). Here are a two of my favorites from the night.
Our next stop was the parking garage at Lake & Wells. Always great views of the ‘L’ at this intersection. And I liked how the rain gave some added depth to the scene.
We attempted a couple other stops but either the wind was out of control with the rain pelting us or there were private events occupying the indoor spaces we thought of as backups. Regardless, it was fun getting to know some other local Chicago photographers and drive around the city in that enormous limo you see parked below the ‘L’ tracks.
I’l leave you with one last photo…an iPhone pic from the cab on the way to meeting up with everyone. That little green leaf says spring…let’s hope we actually get some spring-like temps soon.
