“No man has the right to dictate what other men should perceive, create or produce, but all should be encouraged to reveal themselves, their perceptions and emotions, and to build confidence in the creative spirit.”
– Ansel Adams
Remember that writing workshop I recently teamed up with Christine Organ to do? It filled up super fast and it was a great experience. It nudged me into writing everyday for a week, some days it was hard and I really thought of bailing on my little commitment but it sure felt good to push myself in new ways and hold myself accountable. And it was certainly nice to have others give a little support and to read everyone else’s words and see how the same prompts can trigger very different responses in each person.
Well, you’re in luck, Christie’s offering another FREE writing workshop June 15-19! Since I’m going to be out of town during this time, torturing myself with the likes of Mickey Mouse, I won’t be taking part in this one. But I’m happy to contribute photos as prompts for writing exercises from The Happiest Place On Earth! So, if you missed signing up for the first one, now’s your chance!
We also want to announce a spinoff version of the writing workshop, a creativity workshop titled Coming Together, which will also be FREE for this introductory course. This one will be 3 weeks in July and is meant to bring many types of creatives together – photographers, writers, musicians, painters, poets, or any other form of creativity you want to bring to the group – all working in their preferred medium and maybe occasionally taking a day to step outside their usual process to embrace another medium. Like with the writing workshop you’ll receive daily prompts (Monday – Saturday) and we’ll all connect via a private Facebook group to share our work and receive feedback and encouragement. I’m really looking forward to this one! Sometimes inspiration comes from outside your typical creative environment, so this should be fun!
Check out all the details and sign up on Christie’s website here for both the FREE writing workshop and FREE creativity workshop!!!
