A little over a year ago the Le Méridien Oakbrook purchased some of my artwork for a few areas of their newly renovated hotel. Recently, they asked me to photograph the areas with art installations for marketing purposes. Just thought I’d share some images of where my work ends up.
The first couple shots are of the dining area on the first floor called Longitude 87.
If you’re not familiar with the Le Méridien brand their focus is on “Unlocking Destinations” through each location’s culture, cuisine and coordinates. Hence the name of the dining area.
It’s also great to see all the design elements come together with 6 of my images in the mix.
The next two images are areas outside the boardrooms on the 9th floor. Each image includes a caption about the location. A unique and interesting way to incorporate the various cultural aspects of Chicago.
The last image is in the elevator lobby on the 7th floor. Each of the guestroom floors, floors 2-8, feature a different image from my From the ‘L’ series along with the distance from the hotel to the location the image was created. A creative way to incorporate both an iconic cultural component of Chicago along with the coordinates.
It’s been so great to see how this project has come together and it’s been a thrill to collaborate with the design team throughout this process. Stay tuned for updates over the next few months on my collaboration with the Le Méridien flagship location, Le Méridien Etoile in Paris.
