It’s been nearly 3 years since I completed my From the ‘L’ project and I haven’t thought much about it since then. The last couple of years I’ve been pretty busy with some commissioned jobs and teaching and, of course, the whole parenting thing. But things have slowed down a bit the last couple of months and I’m slowly getting back to doing more work on some of my ongoing projects.
If you’ve been following my blog recently, I added a new image to my Urban Quilt series a couple weeks ago…and worked on some images for that series yesterday. More to come on that soon.
I also seemed to be drawn to revisiting my From the ‘L’ series yesterday as well. I really thought I was done and over that series, and I doubt I’ll explore each of the lines to the extent I did in 2012-2013, but when I find myself on the train during a relatively slow time I get pulled right back in.
So, on my way downtown yesterday I decided to make a few images – all from the Brown Line between the Addison and Quincy stops.
To see a couple more shots from yesterday and the whole series, take a look here. If you’d like to see the From the ‘L’ book, or get a copy for yourself or someone who might appreciate Chicago from this vantage point you can find it here. Thanks for following along!
