Chicago based architecture firm Studio Gang Architects is by far one of my favorite firms. Of course I love that they’re local but the designs they create are thoughtful and inspired. I’ve shared a number of their Chicago projects from the tallest high rise designed by a woman – Aqua – to the pavilion along the boardwalk in Lincoln Park and the WMS Boathouses at Clark Park.
Last week I finally had a chance to check out one of their latest Chicago designs, City Hyde Park. This building is a residential tower in Chicago’s Hyde Park neighborhood located near Lake Michigan. Similar to the Aqua design each unit has a balcony that allows easy interaction between residents, creating a greater sense of community.
As is typical of my shooting style, I focused on details more than environmental interpretations of the building. Below I share just a few, head over here to see a number of other versions as well as color.
