As I’m sure you remember from my many posts, I was recently in NYC for the first ever Out of New York Photo Conference. Since this is planned by the amazing Out of Chicago crew it was a fantastic event. Great presenters, attendees, staff and experiences for 4 days all over Manhattan.
We started the conference with a private boat tour around Manhattan with views of the skyline and the Statue of Liberty, then ending in Brooklyn for some New York style pizza. Sorry Chicago, New York has you beat there.
We all know skyline views are not typically my thing but how can I not make at least a few shots. The first few are from Thursday’s boat tour which started with really awful weather – cloudy, gray, not-at-all conducive to great skyline shots but we seriously lucked out with the weather clearing for a beautiful sunset.
The next couple are from Sunday’s sunrise…yikes, so early! But, Michael Muraz and I led an all-day workshop which started in Brooklyn for a beautiful, although chilly, sunrise.
And because I love abstracts and that water in the above shot is my favorite part of the photo I had to crop for an abstract, lol.
We ended our long day of shooting in New Jersey for another perspective of Manhattan. The in-between shots will come in (likely) many other posts. Stay tuned!
And a little playing around with White Balance on this last one…just thought it was kinda fun.
For a few other shots and to keep up-to-date with further NYC additions you can head over to this set.
