I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving holiday! I enjoyed spending some relaxed time with my family and cooking Thanksgiving dinner for everyone. Given I don’t cook much, I’m glad everything turned out okay 😉
Over the weekend I also received a copy of Let’s Explore Magazine, Issue 01 – CROSSROADS. This was so nice to receive as it’s been a work in progress for quite sometime. The editor of the magazine was gracious enough to reach out to me and suggest I be a part of this issue with my Urban Quilt series. Of course I was thrilled and jumped at the chance. Given the publication includes inspirational stories from artists all over the world – sharing their words, insight and images – I was honored to be included alongside the other 27 creatives.
Below is a quote from the editor, Kilian Idsinga, which summarizes the intent of this issue. However, I urge you to get a copy for yourself to read all these inspiring stories behind the images, which you can get through this link here.
“We all have had moments in which we have to make a decision about our future; willingly or unwillingly, with a level of control or without any grasp on the situation at hand. What all these moments have in common though, is that the way we look at things changed or that something or someone triggered a change in our behavior. Eventually, this could result in a taking a chance, a leap of faith and hopefully finding out there’s more than meets the eye, when you let your eyes be opened.”
I also recently had the pleasure of writing a guest blog post for Out of Chicago Photography about Creating Photographic Series. While this may seem like it applies only to photographer’s I would argue it’s a way for all creatives, and even those of you who don’t consider yourselves to be creative, to go about your work in a more mindful way. Or to simply be more aware and appreciative of your world. Click here to read the full post.
As always, thanks so much for taking the time to read these posts and other publications. I greatly appreciate it!
XOXO,
