After 4 trips to Palm Springs to visit my in-laws, this is the first time I’ve spent any time photographing some of the spectacular mid-century modern architecture of this great city. Since we spent the whole week there this trip, my daughter and I spent about a half-day checking out a few famous spots.
First up, the Tramway Gas Station, which is now a visitors center.
Then we made a little stop by the City Hall.
We took a quick walk through the Palm Springs Art Museum Architecture and Design Center. Very small but worth a quick trip. Then we wandered down the block to the Coachella Valley Savings & Loan. It was pretty cloudy by then so I focused on the details, not that that’s surprising regardless of weather since basically every image in this post is more detailed…hard habits to break 😉
There are a number of other images from this little outing, of course in color as well – head here to see more.

Great photos from Palm Springs, did you meet any celebs?
Thanks, David! Unfortunately no celebrity sightings 🙁
