This post is long overdue…last summer I was commissioned by Chicago architecture firm JGMA to photograph a project they completed at the Hyde Park Ancona School. They were commissioned to create a sound quieting ceiling for the school’s gym.
I love how even on a smaller project like this the attention to detail is not lost in their design. The beams not only quiet the noise of the gym but add a sculptural quality that also adds a bright, whimsical element to the elementary school.
The shot above and the first two below were shot in my more typical, abstract style.
The next few are commercially shot for JGMA where the images are more representative of the space, documenting the gym through a wider view and through use by the children of the school.
