In my last post I shared some images of the new Kellogg School Global Hub at Northwestern University. If you haven’t been in Evanston recently, the Northwestern campus has a number of new additions to the campus, especially along the lakefront. The Global Hub, Ryan Center for Musical Arts and the Segal Visitor Center.
While my focus on this trip was the Global Hub, I did make a few images of the Segal Vistor Center Parking Garage. Seems strange to photograph a parking garage but this one is not your typical parking structure. Designed by Perkins + Will the facade is made up of white fabric fins allowing the garage to remain open, eliminating mechanical ventilation. These fins also tie in with the nearby sailing center. The structure is also framed with limestone, which is the historic material of Northwestern’s campus.
Just a couple shots focusing on the fins of the garage. To see more images check out a previous post here.
