Earlier this fall I was in Toronto and came across this really cool bench. It was very reminiscent of a bench I photographed in Chicago in 2013, called the Southport People Spot – pics here.
Doing a bit more research on the Toronto bench, the purpose is very similar to the Southport bench from a few years ago. Basically, it occupies an area of the street, re-purposed to create a space for community gathering.
This particular bench was designed by Ryerson University students in the department of architectural sciences. Since I always seem to forget to take wider shots of these types of spaces, here’s a link to an article showing the whole bench. Below you’ll see I have nothing but abstracts 🙂
