In early January I spent 3 days in Paris doing a little scouting for a possible fall workshop. When we think of Paris, we think of that historic architecture the city is known for, but there are some really great modern buildings too. Given that I tend to be drawn the clean lines of modern architecture it’s fun to seek these out.
There will be a series of posts over the next couple weeks. The first one is this fun, colorful building – 11 Quai d’Austerlitz – in the 13th arrondissement. There’s actually quite a bit of fun stuff to photograph around here! It will be a definitely be a stop when we do the workshop. Check out these fun colors and geometry!
Remember the older architecture I mentioned above? Always fun to try to incorporate that along with the modern, a nice contrast including the two in one frame.
The day I photographed here was full of super dull, gray skies. Generally not my favorite photography conditions, but it can make for some fun, graphic, geometric images. More takes on this building and black & white versions of many from above over here.
