Fall/Winter Exhibitions – Installation Images

Last fall seemed to be busier than usual for exhibitions. I thought I’d do a little roundup with some exhibition images since this is something I have a tendency to flake on. For once, either I remembered to take some photos, even if they were only with my phone, or the hosts of the exhibitions sent images to those of us exhibiting. I’ll work my way backward, starting with the most recent exhibition.
This first share is an exhibition with 16 of my images on display. A little mix featuring a number of my series: CloudscrapersPareidolia and Urban Quilt. This was a bit of a longer exhibit and something more unusual for me. An art advisory firm reached out last summer asking if I’d be interested in exhibiting some of my work at the law firm Reed Smith for a 4-6 month period. Well, why not, right? They recently renovated their offices and one area will have rotating exhibitions. Nice of them to start with my work. And nice that they gave me the opportunity to stop in and get shots of the work on display.

Next up, Tulip, was on exhibit as part of the Abstracts 2018 exhibit at Carnegie Center for Creativity Gallery, Fort Collins, Colorado on November 15 – December 15, 2018. I wasn’t able to make the opening but they were nice enough to send exhibition images. A little tough to see my image but it’s the one on the right wall, second from the left.

A bit of a last minute invitation to exhibit my Urban Quilt series in the Chicago Architektur show at Scharpenberg Art Gallery in Chicago, IL on October 14- November 18, 2018 in conjunction with the Open House Chicago weekend. We had a really nice turnout for the opening reception, and a fellow exhibitor was nice enough to capture this shot for me.

My image Serration was juried into The Shape of Things exhibition at Praxis Gallery in Minneapolis, MN, September 28 – October 17, 2018. Again, I wasn’t able to make the opening but the gallery was nice enough to send images. Serration is the first image on the left.

I was lucky enough to attend the 5th Biennial of Fine Art & Documentary Photography in Barcelona, Spain in October. The previous two years my images won in the Architecture & Interiors category. A couple of phone shots of some of the winning images. First, Tulip and Icarus, which won in 2018.

And, On the Grid, which won in 2017.

One final share, a shot from The Chicago Project VII exhibition which took place at the Catherine Edelman Gallery, Chicago, IL, July 13 – August 31, 2018. Quite the honor to have my Urban Quilt series included in this exhibition at this prestigious gallery. Something that I’ve been working toward for years.

Thanks for taking a little trip through some of 2018’s exhibitions with me! And an enormous thank you to all of you who came out to the shows, sent congrats and hosted, organized, curated and/or juried these exhibitions! It’s all greatly appreciated.
