There are so many new buildings in Chicago’s West Loop, but a standout is the new SOM design – 800 W Fulton. Particularly love the zigzagging stepped terraces. But the cross braces on the east and west sides not only look great but are functional. They take into consideration our extreme weather conditions with a node at the center to allow for expansion and contraction. Plus, allowing for open floorplates and light-filled interiors.
Here’s a look from the east looking west, both day and night.
And a wider view from this vantage point + a little detail.
Now from the west looking east.

A couple more wider perspectives + a detail of those great terraces.

Moving into dusk.

A few drone perspectives.
