The first workshop of 2025 is in the books! Always fantastic to visit sunny LA and escape chilly Chicago this time of year. And, to meet and catch up with new and past attendees. I’m always lucky to have such great groups and this was no exception.

I recapped my images in a post a couple of weeks ago, now it’s time for the best part – the attendee’s images! Let’s jump in.

Laura Thompson

This was Laura’s first workshop with me and is local to the LA area. Always fun having someone from the area in the group, especially since they’ve likely photographed the locations before. But, it’s always great when I get them to a place they have yet to discover.

She’s sharing a few multiple exposures of the “Ulysses” sculpture, The Getty Center, and the Waffle Building.

Anne Keyser

Anne is also new to my workshops and was so fantastic having her on the workshop. She’s sharing all the shiny things we photographed – two takes on The Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Petersen Auto Museum.

Liz Crane

This was Liz’s second workshop with me. First, Mexico City last year and now LA. So great catching up with her and I owe her a huge thanks for letting me try out her Lensbaby Velvet 85mm lens. So fun to finally give this lens and new way of seeing a try.

All three of Liz’s images show nice contrasts between lines and curves with bold, graphic vibes – The Wrapper Building, Petersen Auto Museum, and the “Ulysses” sculpture.

Rachel Francis

This was Rachel’s first workshop with me and despite us both living in Chicago this was the first time I’ve met her. Hopefully, not the last 🙂

She’s sharing three gorgeous black-and-white images, all with this beautiful fluidity to the compositions and post-processing. Here are her takes on the Petersen Auto Museum, Walt Disney Concert Hall, and the Getty Center.

Dan Simpson

So fantastic seeing Dan again! This was his third workshop with me – last year he joined me in Chicago and NYC. This time in his home state of California!

Lindel Holden

This was also Lindel’s first workshop with me. So great meeting him and having him share his great shots with us. Loving the peekaboo moment at the LAPD Headquarters, the gorgeous light and composition at the Disney Concert Hall, and the Petersen Auto Museum reflecting in the reflective surface and balconies of the building across the street.

Nina Kirienko

This was also Nina’s first workshop with me. So fantastic spending a few days with her. Loving her moody, dramatic takes on the Pterodactyl Building, The Getty Center, and The Walt Disney Concert Hall.
