Sorry for the long delay in getting my Toronto photos up here. It’s been a hectic fall. We had great weather and a fantastic group. Let’s take a look at what we saw!

Day 1

First up, private access to my favorite parts of the Aga Kahn museum. The beautiful auditorium and Lapis staircase.

Let’s start with some incredible indecision in the post-processing of the auditorium ceiling. Red, blue, or black & white. What do you like?

Now, for the staircase. I’ll start with a wide look down.

A straight and ICM detail of the handrail and edges of the stairs.

A couple of reflections in the glass wall of the staircase.

One lookup.

I only managed one shot of the Ismali Centre before they kicked us out. I can’t express how much of a hassle shooting here was compared to previous years. I don’t think we’ll be going back here, unfortunately.

However, we did spot this new building down the street so we wandered over here to get some shots.

And, since we had a little extra time we checked out a couple of new buildings in the Canary District. The Indigenous Community Health Centre and a nearby condo building I’m struggling to find the name of.

Our final stop of the day was The Well for its fun canopy ceiling.

These nearby balconies caught my eye.

Day 2

Our second day started a little gloomy. Not the worst when dealing with a brutalist building. Toronto’s City Hall is one of my favorites.

On the way to our next location, we stumbled upon the new Artistry Condos. Only liked a couple of my ICM shots.

Always a favorite, the Frank Gehry-designed Art Gallery of Ontario. Particularly the gorgeous staircase.

A progression of angles at Sun Life Centre.

I’ve typically struggled with the Dominion Centre but found some interesting shadows this time.

Plus, a new one for my Urban Quilt series.

Much more of a commercial shot here, but I liked the fact that one of the buildings was reflecting the other across the plaza.

More reflections. This time, a more abstract lookup at Royal Bank Plaza.

Our final stop of the day, Calatrava’s Allen Lambert Galleria. Two very different moods with these.

Day 3

Our final day began at the lakefront with a new building I’ve been pretty excited to shoot – Aqualuna. The curvy copper colored balconices contrasting with vivid blue sky. What could be better?! Pardon, the excessive number of images.

These last two have a bit of a different mood, a little more subdued. More areas in the shadows.

Some graphic patterns playing with shadow and light on the balconies of Monde Condos.

Sculptures are always a favorite subject, and the many curves of Alice Aycock’s “A Series of Whirlpool Field Manoeuvres” offer many options. This time, I played around with some ICM, probably my favorite versions. Below are also the straight shots for comparison.

A few other takes.

One from Pier 27 Condos.

More geometry at CIBC Tower.

Back to some curves and a favorite staircase/wall combo at the Toronto Reference Library. Starting with some color vs black and white indecision.

A couple ICM shots.

I’ve also found the bright orange and zig-zagging staircase fascinating.

A sideways look at One Bloor East.

The final stop, The Royal Ontario Museum. Struggled to find something new here and have just one so-so image of the great geometric staircase in here.
