The first workshop of 2026 is in the books! It was fun revisiting Miami after such a long workshop hiatus there, 2020 was the last one and my very last workshop before covid…kinda crazy!
We lucked out with some great weather – warm, sunny, and many of us escaping some very frigid temps in the north.
As always, I had a fantastic group, and they all created such amazing images. Let’s take a look!
Wayne Guenther
I actually met Wayne and his wife, Judy, towards the end of covid. They were traveling and the borders to Canada were still closed so they detoured to Chicago and did a private photowalk with me and I’ve now had the pleasure of seeing them many times since. They’re both such wonderful people and great photographers.
Here’s a look at three images from Wayne – The New World Center, a building I do not know the name of nearby, and then a collection of buildings near our hotel.
Judy Guenther
Judy was also at the workshop 🙂 Love her shots – vibrant, super saturated ICM in the Design District, some balconies I’m not recognizing the building of, and Hadid’s One Thousand Museum.

Terri Golas
It was lovely having Terri join me for her first workshop. She made some incredible, bold images full of patterns. The balconies in the Brickell District, details in the Design District, and I love her multiple exposure of 500 Brickell Condos. So fun!

Chris Nyce
The only local at our workshop, it was great to see what areas he was and was not familiar with that we explored. Love his dramatic, moody takes on Gehry’s New World Center, The Dash Fence, and some colorful building, I believe, was somewhere in South Beach.

Deb Shoning
This was also Deb’s firs workshop with me. Was so great having her join me. Love all her curvy, clean, minimalistic takes on the spaces we saw. The Brickell City Centre, she has me stumped on the one with yellow, and the New World Center.

Dennis Herman
Great having Dennis back for a second workshop, he’s always fun to have along! Nice curves and angles in his shots with a muted color palette. I believe the first two are Hadid’s One Thousand Musem and the last one is the Institute of Contemporary Art.

Emma Tager
Emma has been on a handful of workshops with me, always love hanging out with her and seeing what she creates! Her images definitely feel like Miami with their vibrant colors – a detail from Gehry’s New World Center, SLS Brickell Hotel & Residence, and The Miami Beach Convention Center.

Rita Ritner
Also, fantastic to have Rita back for a second workshop. She’s such a ray of sunshine 🙂 Her images also feel like Miami, so colorful and fun. She made the Miami Beach Convention Center a shade of blue, highlights some Brickell District balconies, and found this colorful geometric building in the Design District.
Chris Lutton
This was Chris’s second workshop with me. So fun having him along again. And, love his bright images, especially this first one of the parking garage in the Design District. Also, great takes on the Dash Fence and the Fly’s Eye Dome.

Josh Kates
This was Josh’s first workshop as well. Love his high-key takes on the New World Center, The Institute of Contemporary Art, and this fun wall in the Design District.
