Back to NYC and a little switch with the time of year I held this workshop. Typically, I do this in the fall, but the last couple of times hurricane aftermath has caused quite a bit of rain, so I decided to move it to spring. Seemed to work well, this year, at least. We had gorgeous weather and a really fun group, per usual!
I’m still working my way through my images. I’ll eventually share some of those. More importantly, let’s look at a few shots from some of the attendees. Impressed as always!
Kim Chopoorian
This was Kim’s second workshop; she’s relatively local. Actually had a lot of semi-local attendees for this one. She had a lot of great shots. First, monochrome blue with a detail of The Shed. A symmetrical black & white of The Vessel and a photo that falls more in the street photography genre, but I love it so had to share!

Tammy Tideswell
This was Tammy’s first workshop with me, and she’s pretty new to photographing architecture. You’d never know it…fantastic shots of New York by Gehry, Penn Station, and The Gilder Center.

Deb Mastronardi
Deb’s been on quite a few workshops with me, always fantastic to have her back. She also grew up in NYC, lives relatively nearby, and visits often. It’s also her second time doing the NYC workshop, though under much different weather conditions. Her first time around was hurricane aftermath. Good to explore the same places under different weather conditions.
She has two great shots of the Guggenheim and one otherworldly take on The Fulton Center.

Lisa Ostrich
Lisa has also done workshops with me in the past and frequently visits NYC. Great to share some new locations with locals or frequent visitors and see their vision for locations they’ve seen numerous times. She has some beautiful shots of the IAC Building, The Gilder Center, and The Oculus.

Leslie Baker
Leslie has attended many of my workshops at this point. Love catching up with her and thrilled I’ll get to do it once again during the Paris workshop this fall 🙂
Love the unique take of The Oculus in the first image, feels very Georgia O’Keeffe to me. Great lookup at The Fulton Center, and she visited the 5th Ave Apple Store the day after the workshop, sharing this black & white with a hint of color from there.

Linda Alschuler
Great seeing Linda again, as well. She’s sharing a unique, textural take on the Manhattan Bridge, a small detail at the Guggenheim (something I haven’t noticed there, which is a nice surprise!), and an ICM cityview.
You can see more of her great work on her website – www.lindaalschuler.com.

Yukiko Okuma
Was great to see Yuki again, too! Even attending after she had just landed from Scotland and another workshop the night before! She had been attending an ICM workshop, and used some of these gorgeous techniques and lenses for the shots she’s sharing today – The Guggenheim, The Oculus, and, well, not entirely sure what the last building is, but I love the texture, patterns, and contrast with the reflected cloud.

Thanks to all of these great photographers, and a few others who didn’t share their images today, for joining me in NYC. Such a fun group! Here are a few BTS shots 🙂

And, thanks, Yuki, for this fun one!
