Le Méridien Étoile

"Discovery consists not in seeking new lands but in seeing with new eyes."

- Marcel Proust

Angie had the pleasure of collaborating with Le Méridien Étoile for their flagship hotel renovation in Paris, France. Initially commissioned to create artwork for the corridors, the project was expanded to include the guestrooms.

Her assignment was to create images from arrondissement’s 1-9, one assigned per floor of the hotel, conveying a sense of journey through the “City of Light”.

Given the brand’s emphasis on discovering destinations by seeing in new and unexpected ways and Angie’s similar approach to photography, this was a well-paired collaboration.

Prior to the Paris commission, the Le Méridien brand chose some of Angie’s Chicago images for their new Chicago/Oakbrook hotel. To celebrate the completion of the Étoile renovation, they asked Angie to pair images taken in Chicago with images taken in Paris. The intent was to showcase how these sister cities had ties despite the distance and varied history. Below you see images of Chicago on the left paired next to images of Paris on the right. The one set of black & white, Chicago is above and Paris below. Fascinating how two, seemingly, very different cities can feel so similar.
