A beautiful summer day for the most recent private photowalk. We started the day in Millennium Park and lucked out with some great clouds reflecting in the Bean (Anish Kapoor). Despite it being summer and it usually being very busy, it was pretty calm when we arrived at 9am on a Monday, allowing this detailed […]
It’s been a while since I’ve had a shoot out of the US for a client, so I jumped at the chance to photograph the St Regis Punta Mita for the St Regis brand. Not only because it’s always great to travel for work but they’re fantastic to work with. A great team, a fun […]
Another Northern California/SF stop that was part of the client project I mentioned in the previous post was Booker Winery in Paso Robles. Love the modern design of this space. Again, the focus is mainly on details/vignettes both interiors & exteriors, with the occasional wider shot. Love the resident dog, Ella 🙂 Wrapping things up, […]
Earlier this year I spent some time on the west coast – Mexico, Los Angeles area, San Francisco area – creating images for a client centered around design inspiration. One of those SF area stops was Ram’s Gate Winery in Sonoma. While this wasn’t all-encompassing of how I’d shoot this space for the winery or […]
Over the last year, I’ve been working with the St Regis brand to create images for design inspiration. A bit of a mix of my fine art style + the more documentary type of commercial work. However, with a stronger focus on details of both architectural elements and landscapes. Fun and a bit nerve-racking to […]
One of my favorite architectural subjects is shadows. Of course, you need some source of light. The sun being the most obvious, but artificial light works too. Just keep your eyes open for unexpected opportunities. Let’s dive into a few ways to incorporate shadows into your architectural shots. Shadows as the main subject In these […]
I recently had the fun of shooting this beautiful office space in downtown Chicago. Love the bright, open spaces with pops of red throughout. Such a clean, modern feel. Incredible views from the cubicle areas, conference rooms, and dining area.
Another great Chicago workshop is in the books. Another fantastic group joined me for 3 days exploring the city. Let’s take a look at some of their shots from the weekend. Celine Hartwig Celine joined us from Iowa and is sharing shots of a couple of Chicago’s best staircases (The Rookery & The Art Institute) […]
A couple of weeks ago I was in Salt Lake City for my son’s soccer tournament. Luckily, we had a little bit of downtime to do some exploring. When we first arrived, we couldn’t check in to our hotel yet so we decided to make a little visit to the State Capitol before his practice. […]
Earlier this summer I had the opportunity to photograph Bellworks Chicago, located in Hoffman Estates and designed by NPZ Style + Decor. The atrium is bright and open, featuring fun pops of color with modern, Bahaus-like styling and playful furniture. Just off this atrium are two kitchen/cafe/dining/work spaces. Now, for the conference rooms.
