Brand new this year – SAN FRANCISCO! This has long been on my list as a workshop destination and this year we’ll spend 3 days exploring this unique city. From the Golden Gate Bridge to the Embarcadero and much in between. The emphasis will be on the detailed aspects of the city’s modern and contemporary architecture along with a couple of iconic vistas.
A few days before we meet in person, we’ll come together for an online presentation with tips on composition. Once the in-person portion wraps, I’ll share a post-processing tutorial with you. You’ll have a couple of weeks to work on your images and then we’ll meet up online once again for a review session of each participant’s work.
PRESENTATION: Tuesday, August 16, 8pm CST
REVIEW SESSION: Thursday, September 1, 8pm CST
These are just some of the locations we’ll see. A more detailed itinerary will be sent out a couple of weeks prior to us meeting in-person.
We’ll be walking quite a bit! Please be prepared with good shoes, water, snacks and travel light!
I recommend a mid-range zoom around the 24-70mm range + a 70-200mm telephoto (the telephoto will likely be your most used lens).
Saturday we’ll be inside museums – THEY DO NOT ALLOW BACKPACKS (unless you’re willing to check them or they’re small and you can wear them on the front of you). So, I recommend a good crossbody bag or be willing to check your backpack at each location.
Tripods are optional but you may want them for sunset each day. I’d recommend a small travel tripod since we’ll have to carry them all day.
